Figured Maple and Cocobolo make a beautiful combination in both form and function.
Maple is well known for it's unusual figuring ranging from curly to quilted,
flamed to fiddleback, even spotted with "bird's eyes". Contrasted with the dark but
no less striking grains of the Cocobola insert make this a very attractive call.
Maple is of medium density, which mellows the sound a bit (slightly harder than Bodoc,
a little softer than Coco). Since The natural oils in the Cocobola insert protect it
from moisture, you can be sure that your call will not lose its tune due to swelling.
Finished with several coats of high gloss polyurethane on the Maple barrel,
while the Cocobola insert gets either a hand rubbed wax polish or polyurethane.
